A tip on teaching and presenting

How well do you need to know your subject?

Every educator and presenter needs to know their subject. But how well do they need to know it?

I often use the following saying:

It is not enough to learn your subject well enough to know it.
You need to know your subject well enough to get enthusiastic about it.

When I studied engineering a long time ago I had a teacher in the science of material strength. I initially perceived the subject to be boring and uncreative and had low expectations about it. But the teacher quickly changed my mind. With great knowledge and enthusiasm he captured our minds to his subject.

This teacher proved to me that any subject can be made interesting, and that the key is in learning more about the subject.

There are many ways to get more enthusiastic about your subject, and one proven way is to deepen your knowledge about your it. Here are some suggestions:

Just remember to keep adapting your subject to your target group as you learn more about it.
